Response Options:• Great! Let's do the full pre-session check to make sure I'm ready for the session.NotesScientologyThe procedures used in this Ruds module come from Scientology (Scn). Scn terminology is used throughout. It is expected that the only people to make use of this module will already be familiar with the terms and procedures. In case you are not so familiar with it all, see the explanations page.Self-discipline neededIt is easier to benefit from a Ruds (or any PaulsRobot) session if you know what to expect and are prepared for it. It has been made as easy as possible for you, but you will have to use some degree of self-discipline in order to be successful. More so than with a human counsellor, because there is no-one in the room with you to keep you in the session doing what you should be doing.Preparations before the sessionBefore doing a Ruds session, it is important to prepare for the session, not so much mentally but physically. This means:
Not a luxuryThese requirements may seem like a luxury, but a session may fail simply because one or more of them has not been adequately met. An obvious example would be if you are drunk and cannot focus your attention at all, but each of the above factors is important. They are not absolute, but should be kept in mind, and taken care of as best as you can before a session. There are more details on these points in the relevant pre-session pages. When all else fails, follow the instructionsReally.Written session plansBefore starting the session you should have a written session plan. Here are some examples of doable ones. A session plan is a strategic plan for the session that is best worked out in the calm before the session and not in mid-session during the "heat of battle," so to speak.Session end pointThe point at which you should end off the session is covered in the Ruds session end point page. You can always have further sessions later on, but often a session will not go so well if it is continued past its natural ending point. |
Notes (continued)Shutting downIf you feel yourself suddenly shutting down (starting to go to sleep and feeling mentally foggy as a result of heavy sensory/emotional charge being stirred up, not from lack of sleep or eating too much), recognize it as such. Hit the shutting down link visible on most of the session pages for a quick and effective remedy. Note that you have to DO the remedy at that point, not merely read about it!You will still have to reduce the heavy charge with the ongoing session actions, but you will have successfully dealt with that effect of it for now. OwnershipNarrowed attentionSometimes handling some specific charge works better when the person concentrates their attention into a particular area of the body or space around them. Do it in this way if it seems like the right thing to do, otherwise just do it generally without narrowing attention into a specific location.Switch at any timeYou can change your mind on this at any time. This is covered in more detail on the explanations page.General instructions for L1C/Rudiments (not main actions):Thoroughly understand the command and what it entailsMake sure you have chewed over and worked out:
No slacking off!You have to pay attention and work at these sessions. You can't sort of sit back and let this all run on automatic if you want to get much out of it. These sessions might be free of charge but they are never free of effort.Go with what flashes to mindBriefly say aloud (images, feelings, sounds, whatever) what has been triggered by the command. Don't second-guess it and try to find another answer. Simply:
Don't flog a dead horseRudiments are quick actions. If nothing is being triggered by the command, then consider the rudiment flat at the moment.Write commentsWrite any brief comments or realizations on your worksheet. At least write down something when you have finished with the ruds.Run till key-out and don't try to go on for some other end phenomenonYou're not trying to run your case with a rudiment. You're trying to get something out of the way so you can address your case with the main action of the session, like a Grade Chart process.Use the Robot commandsThese sessions go much better if you follow the instructions and allow the Robot to give the commands and "run" the session. If you stop clicking the links and try to do it all "in your head" instead it really doesn't work so well. |
